Asuras and Devas are the children of Kashayapa, and while both are deities, Devas are full of goodness and Asuras are more than a little naughty.

Deva is sometimes expanded to include demi-god, spirit, angel or any other divine being who's totally creamy and doesn't show any of the sinful, demonic tendancies associated with your average power craving Asura.
