The God of amour with more lovey-dovey aliases than you can shake a stalk of passion at.

The son of Brahma is a handsome young chap with wings, not unlike your average Cupid. He carries a bow made from sugar cane which has a string of honeybees and arrows lovingly decorated with five types of fragrant flowers.

Lovingly decorated or not, they woke Shiva from his deep meditation when he tried to play match-maker with Parvati and he was incinerated for his troubles.

Soon after, the world became baron and infertile, what was a world without desire? At the request of the gods and to ease the pain of Rati, Shiva resurrected Kama but only as a mental image.

That's why when you are in love .. or lust, you spend so much time day dreaming.
