As Prithvi-Mata she was the wife and contrast of Dyaus Pita (Father Sky) who created Agni. They created Indra too, and to show his appreciation he killed father sky and married his own mother. Such gratitude.

As Prithi-Devi she married Vahara - Vishnu's third avatar in the form of a wild boar .. presumably to say thankyou for saving earth from the cosmic ocean floor where it had been dragged by Hiranyaksha.

She was insulted in the form of Sita for canoodling with Rama, Vishnu's seventh incarnation, just before shurpanakha lost her nose to Lakshmana, and as Lakshmi she was married to Krishna, yet another avatar of Vishnu.
