One of the Seven Japanese Gods of Good Luck.

As a member of Shichi Fukujin Ebisu looks after fishing. So if you haven't had a bite for a while you might want to say a little prayer to to him. While you're at it throw one in for his dad Daikoku for double blessings. Or just change your bait.

He is also the Good Luck God of Labour. By Good Luck does he mean you don't have to do any labour?
