FENRIR

Also known as : FENRIC, FENRIS, FENRISULFR, FENRIS-WOLF, HRODRSVITNIR
God of : n/a | Hall : n/a | Mount : n/a

The giant wolf offspring of Loki and Angrboda - you would've thought after this abomination she would've given her fella the snip!

After a tip off from the Sybil, Odin had Loki and Angrboda's monstrous brood rounded up to be dealt with.

Jormungand was swiftly booted into the sea. Hel was despached to the conveniantly named Helheim and Fenrir was shipped back to Asgard where the gods could keep a beady eye on him.

As time went by it became obvious that walkies were no longer an option and he needed to be shackled. Twice he broke out of the super strength chains that he was bound with without breaking a sweat. The gods were worried ..

They summoned the engineering geniuses known as the dwarves who fashioned a lightweight alternative from the following magic ingredients :

The footsteps of a cat
The beard of a woman
The roots of a mountain
The tendons of a bear
The breath of a fish
The Spit of a bird

Sure enough this flimsy little ribbon was far too strong for him to break and Tyr bore the brunt of his frustration. Fearing a trap, but not wanting to come across as a sissy, big Fen insisted on one of the gods sticking their hand in his gob as a sign of goodwill. Tyr was the only one stupid enough to do it and as the ribbon tightened and held Fenrir as planned, the wolf bit down and took off his hand.

When Ragnarok kicks off Fenrir will finally break free of his shackles and make for Vigrid where he will devour Odin. The sweet taste of victory won't last long though as he'll get his jaws smashed up by a little loving son retribution.
