Norse goddess of love, marriage, fertility and motherhood, presumably in that order, and big on domestic arts and household management too.

Frigg is married to Odin but could be his daughter and does a little bit of crystal ball gazing on the side, keeping all she sees firmly under lock and key, metaphoricallly, which is a shame because a fortune teller that could actually tell fortunes accurately would be worth, well, a fortune.

Her favourite son had been suffering from terrible nightmares so she travelled the whole world to ask everything in it to swear an oath not to harm Balder in any way. Being so motherly she thought the mistletoe was too young to swear and Loki made sure this would come back to bite her on the bum. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

This may all make her sound like a bit of a glorified housewife but she certainly isn't lacking in intestinal fortitude. She went head to head with Odin no less than three times and out-witted him everytime.

Unfortunately the new fangled 'rune stone and magic' driven Norse heathen revival seems to ignore these high fibre full of goodness deities in favour of jumping into bed with the likes of saucy sorceress Freyja.
