Gna is Friggs giant messenger who rides a horse called Hofvarpnir which means 'Hoof-Tosser.' It's no ordinary horse though, as it can gallop through the air and sea at a pretty hefty rate of knots.

Gna set the wheels of the Volsung saga in motion after delivering a magical apple to Rerir and his mystery wife courtesy of the sympathetic Frigg. I'm not sure what they did with it but it's a testament to the powers of vitamin c that a short time later Volsung was born - it's a shame they both died soon after.
