Giant father of Tyr, owner of a giant mile-deep cauldron and captain of Naglfar.

Having invited themselves to a party at Aegirs Hall, the Gods realised that they didn't have a pot big enough to hold all of the ale they planned on drinking. Then Tyr remembered his dad had one.

Having arrived at Hymirs place and having no idea how they were going to aquire said pot, Thor got to thinking and ate two whole Oxen while he was at it. Pretty soon there was no food left and a narked Hymir suggested they go fishing to catch some more.

Having cut the head off the giants prize Ox to use as bait Thor and Hymir rowed out into dangerous waters. Thymir caught two Whales as Thor launched his enormous hook over the side. No sooner had the Oxen head hit the water than the Midgard serpent took the bait, Thor grabbed the line and heaved the huge beast out of the water, hammer raised to strike the fatal blow. There was venom spraying everywhere and Hymir was so terrified he cut the line allowing Jormungand to escape. What Hymir should've really been terrified of was Thors right fist that smashed him in the face moments later and knocked him overboard. You should never cross a God of war when he's about to kill a world encircling serpent.

Thor dragged the boat .. and both Whales .. and a soaking wet Hymir back to the hall but he still hadn't thought of a way to aquire the pot.

As they chowed down they decided to play smash the Goblet. Hymir thought it would be good for a laugh .. you know, ease the tension a bit. He wasn't laughing when his wife suggested Thor throw it at his rock solid head which, as it turns out, was the only thing hard enough to break it. As Hymir lay dazed and confused Thor picked up the giant cauldron licking his lips at the thought of how much Ale the Gods could fill it with and made a speedy exit. I say speedy, but he still managed to massacre a whole shed load of giants on the way out .. there's always time to massacre a shed load of giants.
