KVASIR

God of : Inspiration, Knowledge | Hall : n/a | Mount : n/a

After the end of the Vanir - Aesir war, Gods from both sides spat into a huge bucket and formed the contents into Kvasir - the wisest of all beings. Kvasir means spittle. It's true.

It was his genius that suggested the use of a net to catch the trickster Loki when he tried to do a runner .. sorry swimmer .. after changing into a salmon to escape the Gods wrath for murdering Balder.

Such wisdom was greatly sought after and it was two dwarves Fjalar and Galar who showed a bit of wisdom themselves when they killed him, mixed his blood with honey and let it ferment into a mystic brew known as the Mead of Inspiration. This was greatly sought after too.
