RAN

God of : n/a | Hall : n/a | Mount : n/a

Norse Goddess of the sea, wife of Aegir and mother of the nine billow maidens.

She was a bit of a loose cannon and greatly feared by sea-folk because of her fabled net which she used to capture men.

At the annual winter feast at Aegir's hall, she let slip that she had such a net to the visiting gods. You could see Loki's mind immediately go to work trying to think of how he could use it for his own gain. Fortunately, he remembered about it when a certain otter was accidently slain and he needed Andvari's horde to pay a blood debt. This had serious implications.

When fisherman and sailers are said to be in Ran's bed, this isn't as sordid or as exciting as it sounds, it simply means they've drowned. How disapointing.
