TYR

Also known as : IWAL, TIW, TIWAL, TIWAZ, ZIU
God of : War, Sports | Hall : n/a | Mount : n/a

Norse god of war. Tyr was particularly popular with sportsman because of his link with heroic glory.

Originally one of the Anglo Saxon top gods, Tyr's popularity waned during Norse times and he became Odins left hand man, mainly because he didn't have a right one, but thanks to Olde English he will never be forgotten — Tuesday is Tyr's day.

Tyr has a rather unfortunate association with snarling sharp toothed beasty types, having already suffered the consequences of putting his hand in a giant wolf's mouth as a sign of goodwill, and will also meet Garm on the field of battle at Ragnarok.
