The four hundred drunken rabbit gods, each representing a different kind of intoxicated state, were renowned in Aztec times for their legendary shin-digs.

As you can imagine, with so much Pulque being consumed details are a little hazy. The only certainty is that, for whatever reason, each member was known as 'rabbit' and given a numerical prefix. Ometotchtli was two rabbit and is generally regarded as the supreme god of this particular party, if for no other reason than a 'one rabbit' has never been mentioned... ever. A drunken oversight perhaps?

Members of note include Macuiltochtli and Tepozlecatl but as the Aztecs seemed to use the number 400 to describe anything that was inumerable it's hard to say how many there actually were.

I wonder if they ran a nominated deity system whereby one of them had to stay in control of their senses to get the others home safely?
