( Keht-sahl-coh-attle )QUETZALCOATL

Aka : TLAHUIZCALPANTECUHTLI
God of : Creation | Tonalli : Ehecatl (Wind) | Trecena : Ocelotl (1 Jaguar – 13 Death)

The feathered serpent creator god. Creation must run in the family... he was created by creator God Ometeotl.

No-one seems to know why he left them or where he went, but the pale faced God of the winds of change promised to return. The Aztecs thought he had, around 1519 a.d. and they welcomed him back with open arms. Unfortunately it was the thieving Spaniard known as Cortez. What a mistake that was!

Quetzalcoatl ruled the cycle of the fifth creation and travelled to Mictlan, the lowest level of the Aztec underworld, with his twin Xolotl to collect the bones of the deceased to make the next generation.

This was easier said than done, as Mictlantecuhtli was playing finders keepers, but through sheer persistance they managed to nab the boney loot. But the god of death had another trick up his sleeve and they weren't in the clear yet. As they turned and fled they were tripped by a group of mentalist quail, of all things, and some of the bones were broken. This explains why humans come in all shapes and sizes.

On their return, Cihuacoatl ground up the bones and mixed them with clay as Quetzalcoatl donated some blood from his todger. The resulting bloody mess was formed into humans and Quetzalcoatl was installed as the undisputed patron of arts and crafts.

Quetzalcoatl did a stint as Tlahuizcalpantecuhtli, God of the morning star who had a rather unfortunate run-in with the new Sun God Tonatiuh and has also been spotted in Ehecatl mode.
