The great boss Loa spirit of the dead and most notorious of all the Haitian Voodou Pantheon.

He loves to trance the night away especially on a Saturday hence his title Baron Samedi (Baron Saturday), presumably after stoking up on his preferred placatives of tobacco and rum. Very bad things happen if he doesn't receive a regular supply of these items.

He is often spotted on the graveyard shift as his alter-ego Baron Cemetiere (Cemetary) smoking a cigar with black top hat and tails adorning his skeletal frame and as Baron la Croix ( the cross) standing at the crossroads of this world and Guinee acting all Ghede like.

He's married to the equally tough talking Maman Brigitte and has been known to get all heavy as Baron criminel if you don't pay your dues by deadline day.
