Asuras are the children of Kashayapa. They are pretty damn dangerous as although they already posess super natural power they always want more.

Daityas and Danavas are both classes of Asura and while strictly speaking they're not demons they are in constant opposition to the holy wholesome and full of goodness Devas and have some seriously nasty habits .. such as kidnapping the earth and dragging it to the bottom of the cosmic ocean for instance.

As strong as they are they aren't the most intelligent and can often be roped in to help out the Gods when they need some muscle, with the promise of somekind of powergiving gift that is never going to materialize. The churning of the milk ocean springs to mind. See Samudra Manthan for the low down.
