The Cosmic cow who licked Buri right out of the ice and appeared like a frozen Mirage to Ymir.

He was the first Rime Giant born at the beginning of time from melting droplets of Niflheim. He was also cold and hungry .. and thats where Audumla stepped in. I'm sure Ymir was hoping she would offer herself up as bbq to be roasted over the embers of Muspelheim but it wasn't to be.

Instead he had to make do with milk from her icy teats which was enough to keep the giant from starving to death until he become Grandad to a certain Odin.

Unfortunately, Odin wasn't exactly big on family loyalty. He smashed his grandad into pieces and used the bits to create the universe. Hows that for gratitude?
