Mesoamerican Mythology Resources

The Mythology of Mesoamerica is a bit of a dodgy subject...

It's the Spanish you see. Strolling all over the place looking for cities of gold. Aztec and Incan mythologies suffered when the conquistadors rocked up, educating them on christianity, but I'm not going to get involved in that, you can invade anywhere you like as long as it isn't my house. What really gets my goat is their nasty habit of burning every piece of literature they can find, replacing it with a pile of old clap-trap written by Spanish Monks who were on the payrol. Very questionable.

Add to this the Olmecs disappearing act and you have a mythology that actually takes a bit of effort to research. As such you'll probably find that the 'quick buck' brigade have steered clear of Mesoamerica altogether. Which is a good thing.
